Live train status - PNR is a useful Indian Railways app that lets you check train status in real-time.

What is PNR?

When you travel by train in India, you usually have to wait for the train to arrive at the station. It can be a frustrating experience if you miss your train because it was delayed or cancelled.

To make this experience more efficient and less stressful, the government of India introduced the PNR (Personnel Train Reference) system.

The PNR number is assigned to each ticket that is issued by the railway station. This number is used to keep track of the passenger’s journey, and to confirm the validity of the ticket.

If a passenger misses his train or gets confused about the timetable, he can easily check the status of his PNR number from the official Indian Railways website.

The PNR Status

Once the passenger’s PNR number is confirmed, the passenger will be notified about the status of his ticket. The passenger will be given two options: he can choose to go to the railway station and get his ticket confirmed, or he can choose to wait for the next train and get his ticket confirmed on his next journey.

The PNR status will also be displayed on the mobile phone of the passenger.
